Spectacular Art Bus Launches
Exhibition by Sir Peter Blake
and Sandra Blow
An exhibition of work by Sir Peter Blake
RA and Sandra Blow RA was recently
opened at the Wendy Levy Gallery in
Didsbury, Manchester. The exhibition
comprises of original silkscreen prints
by two of Britains most iconic artists.
It was fitting that this exhibition should
be launched by the amazing Art Bus
that was designed by Sir Peter Blake.
The idea of the bus was born in March
2008 when Sir Peter and Lady Blake
were in discussion with Gallery owners
and Directors of CCA Galleries regard-
ing the possibility of having a travelling
show that would have the ethos of a
Rock n Roll tour. The bull was taken by
the horns and by May of the same year
Lance Trevellyan, MD of CCA, had
bought a 20-year-old double decker bus
that had, in a previous life, toured the
streets of Liverpool, a place close to the
heart of Sir Peter Blake. The dream was
to convert the old bus into something
very special.
