Buy Art Fair is back on the 24-27 September 2009,
a key date for all art lovers.
At this years event there will be over 75 galleries,
including The Wendy Levy Gallery, showcasing over
300 highly regarded artists, all exhibiting at the only
art fair to visit in Manchester and the North. The
consumer art exhibition is proving to be one of the
largest in the country, with galleries such as Paul
Stolper, The Smithfield Gallery and Vivienne Gaskin
Cultural Management Ltd joining the exclusive
galleries for the 2009 fair.
John Dare, Show Director of Buy Art Fair, comment-
ed: “One of the biggest barriers to buying original art
is the way in which it is bought and sold. Last year
we set out to remove that barrier and make art
accessible to all. In what was, and continues to be, a
difficult economic climate, I’m thrilled to say Buy Art
Fair succeeded, generating over £200,000 of sales in
its debut show.”
“This year we’re looking forward to pushing the
boundaries further, introducing new concepts such
as The Manchester Contemporary; a showcase of
leading cutting edge contemporary art, not just for
dedicated enthusiasts and established collectors, but
entry level buyers also.”
The Manchester Contemporary will push the bound-
aries of art; a snapshot of cutting edge contemporary
art that will act as a new platform within the fair is
being supported by the Contemporary Art Society,
Castlefield Gallery and Ceri Hand Gallery. The
Manchester Contemporary will feature 15 leading
contemporary art galleries from around the UK.
