THE ART OBSERVER
June 2007
Didsbury Life, the website, is set to
re-launch in June 2007. Through
high-quality editorial, 360-degree
virtual tours, first-class photography
and a range of user-friendly
features, the new-look site will
enable local businesses to create
a permanent and impressive online
presence.
The team at Didsbury Life incorpo-
rates a talented core of marketing
and design professionals. Two key
WHEELDON OPTICIANS have
been in business in the South
Manchester area for over a
century with their first premises
being on Burton Road in
Withington circa 1892. Now
four generations later they
operate out of West Didsbury,
Cheadle and Wilmslow offering
a range of services from full
eye-examinations including
retinal photography, the fitting
of contact lenses, to advice on
suitable frame choices and
quality lens selection.
We benefit from a loyal client
base, but more recently have
noticed hundreds of new patients
a year choosing us for their
eyecare. We continually try to
improve our service to patients
as we feel this is paramount
when choosing an optician
said James Wheeldon who,
along with his brother David,
are the Directors/Owners of the
business.
They offer standing order
schemes and home delivery for
services that Didsbury Life will be
offering, in conjunction with the
website, are business marketing
and contemporary website design.
Co-director of Didsbury Life, Pete
Ruane, said: We are committed
to helping small and medium
enterprises in Didsbury flourish
through more meaningful marketing
strategies both on and off-line.
This isnt about encouraging
business owners to spend a
fortune on advertising, but helping
them to create increased leverage
from assets they already have.
Smarter thinking and small
changes can quickly produce
tangible and exciting results.
As well as a 24-hour marketing
platform, Didsbury Life will be an
all-encompassing lifestyle guide
for local residents, and anyone
visiting this vibrant suburban town.
In-depth sections will include food
and drink, health and beauty,
education, sport and leisure,
accommodation, music, home and
entertainment all will be regularly
updated with features, offers, VIP
events and promotions.
Didsbury Life will also soon offer
pages dedicated to local art and
culture. So if you are a local artist,
poet, writer or musician and you

Wheeldon
Optometrists
contact lens patients, a full range
of frames for every budget
including many designer names
and the latest digital imaging
system. Fashion in eyewear can
go full circle from the tortoise-
shell frames of the 1940s to the
Eric Morcombe style of the
1960s, the John Lennon round
metals of the 1970s to the more
recent giant frames sported by
Coronation Streets Dierdre.
Nowadays the trend is for neat,
minimalist frames with modern
titanium materials, and the
improvement in modern lens
technology means that heavy
thick lenses are something of the
past. They can also demonstrate
varifocal lenses and anti-reflec-
tion coatings.
Wheeldon Opticians are delighted
to be associated with Wendy
Levys Art Gallery in Didsbury
and would encourage anyone
interested in finding out more
about the sevices we offer to
contact us by phone or, better
still, call in to the practice
nearest to them.
